Matthew 16:15
"And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."
Acts 26:18

To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

"Never lose heart in the power of the Gospel. Do not believe that there exists any man, much less any race of men, for whom the Gospel is not fitted."

(Charles H. Spurgeon)

Our Mission, our burdens and our Goals

In a land where once the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ was so faithfully proclaimed with great fervency and power,  there now exists a great spirit of indifference and an erry stillness concerning the Gospel of Jesus Christ. A spirit of deadly apathy has settled over this part of the country and many churches, having succombed to this sprit of deadness and indifference, have all but lost that great fervency of spirit and diligence in preaching the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ which once echoed so loudly throughout this part of the country.

Could this be the evidence of divine judgment, and if so, how are God's people suppose to react? Is this a time to merely sit back and mourn over such spiritual deadness? Are we do simply "accept" such apathy and merely "hold on, do the best we can do"? Or is it time for God's children to humbly and fervently seek their God in prayer, that He might once again bring a true Revival to this great country, and that we might once again see the power of the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ (which alone has the power to save sinners)?

2Ch 7:14

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Many believers today, as well as Pastors, have all but given up on any hopes of ever seeing God bring a true revival to this spiritually indifferent and slothful country, even though they insist on holding their "yearly Revival meetings". Led by their "traditions" and years of "habit", they rest in these annual "acts of revival", convincing themselves that God has blessed their meetings. Yet, where are the fruits which accompany true revival? Where are all those who professed conversion at these meetings? Where are the believers who profess that their lives have been truly "changed and reformed" by the effects of such revivals? For though a revival may last only a few days, the "effects and fruits" of a God sent revival are seen weeks and months after the "revival meeting" has come to an end. Have we become so "content" with our "annual traditional revivals" and their "short lived effects", that we seek not  more thorough and lasting effects from such revivals? The truth of the matter is, that most "revival meetings" today are not well attended. The majority of revivals today have a very low attendance, especially from those who profess to be believers.

But should we be surprised, when many of them have great difficulty even attending church on Sunday? How could we ever hope of seeing a true "revival" take place in this part of the country, when those who profess to know God show so little interest in the things of God themselves? Who disrespect the Lord's Day, while following their personal pleasures and interests? Why should the Spirit of God "send a revival" for such spiritually indifferent and slothful" believers?

For though we realize that we cannot "produce" a revival of ourselves, nor can we dictate to the Holy Spirit how or when a revival should take place (for every true revival is a sovereign work of the Holy Spirit of God and not dependent upon any thing man does), yet, we are instructed in God's Word to employ all those divine means which God has given us to seek and secure a blessing of the Spirit of God for such a revival.

2Ch 7:14

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

These glorious words of exhortation give us the divine method of seeking and securing a true, God sent revival. May they ever encourage and strengthen our hearts in our desires to see God send this barren and unfruitful land a thorough and genuine revival.

May God be merciful unto us all, and may we truly seek to "humble ourselves, and pray, and seek His face, and turn from our wicked ways: That God would hear from heaven and forgive us our sins, AND HEAL OUR LAND!"

We covet the prayers of God's covenant people for this country and our efforts to reach many souls for Christ.

Psalms 46:1

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

If God Had Not Been on Our Side (Martin Luther)

1. If God had not been on our side
And had not come to aid us, The foes with all their power and pride Would surely have dismayed us; For we, His flock, would have to fear The threat of men both far and near Who rise in might against us.

2. Their furious wrath, did God permit, Would surely have consumed us And as a deep and yawning pit With life and limb entombed us. Like men o'er whom dark waters roll Their wrath would have engulfed our soul  And, like a flood, o'erwhelmed us.

3. Blest be the Lord, who foiled their threat That they could not devour us;
Our souls, like birds, escaped their net, They could not overpower us. The snare is broken--we are free! Our help is ever, Lord, in Thee, Who madest earth and heaven.
